ADHD knowledge – free online course in English
University of Geneva, in collaboration with leading scientists and clinicians, has created a free online course in English and French to enable a wide dissemination of knowledge in the field.
This course answers the following questions: What is ADHD? What are the associated challenges?
Whether you’re a person affected by attention deficit disorder, a family member or a professional, this MOOC will give you an understanding of what ADHD is. It will enable you to respond to the specific challenges of ADHD by developing a complex strategy that integrates psychological dimensions, neurobiological treatments and environmental interventions. Since in two-thirds of cases ADHD is relatively persistent, even if it can fluctuate over the course of an individual’s life, this course will provide the keys to understanding how to live with ADHD over the long term.
Through presentations by experts in the field, activities and various resources such as readings and videos, you’ll learn more about:
- ADHD symptom assessment
- The specifics of ADHD diagnosis, as well as its differential diagnoses and comorbidities
- The neurobiological basis of ADHD
- Biological (including medication), psychological and environmental interventions for ADHD
The course is aimed at a wide range of people and requires no prior knowledge. First and foremost, it is aimed at teenagers and adults affected by attention deficit disorder, as well as their loved ones.
The course has also been designed to enable professionals interested in ADHD to learn more about the disorder. It is also offered to medical and psychology students who wish to learn more about ADHD.
