Paediatricians, psychologists and psychiatrists can diagnose and treat ADHD, but only psychiatrists and paediatricians can prescribe medication. Please click here to read our full article on the difference between psychologists and psychiatrists.
If you receive an ADHD diagnosis from a psychologist and wish to take medication, you will have to be re-diagnosed by a psychiatrist. You will not be able to use your psychologist report to acquire medication.
This is a general list of services available in Ireland. ADHD Ireland is not a clinically based organisation, we do not have any connection with clinicians included on our website. The list is created to make life easier for ADHD community in accessing information when searching for specialists. We do not recommend or favour anyone on our list; the order is random.
