We are looking for a new Training Facilitator!
ADHD Ireland is a grass roots charity set up by and for people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ADHD Ireland, previously called HADD, has existed for over 30 years, originally established by parents of children with ADHD, as a local family support group. Over the years, ADHD Ireland has grown and developed to provide a range of supports and services (e.g., support line, parent training, teacher training, group therapy, psycho-education, etc.) for people affected by ADHD across Ireland.

ADHD Ireland’s mission is to make life better for all people affected by ADHD, by raising awareness, knowledge, and understanding of the condition, providing practical services, and by creating a support network of volunteers to underpin these activities.
To support our ongoing strategy ADHD Ireland wishes to appoint a full-time Training Facilitator.
Title: Training Facilitator
Location: ADHD Ireland, Carmichael Centre, North Brunswick Street Dublin 7 (post will include some travel)
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Reporting to: National Service Development Manager
Nature of post: Initial six-month contract, with a view to year-long contract. 6-month probationary period applies. Salary €49,000 per annum (pro rata) based on a 40 hour week.
Summary of Role and Responsibilities
- To provide the services and impacts that lead to achieving the objectives of ADHD Ireland and a measurable improvement in making life better for people affected by ADHD, including individuals and families with ADHD
- The delivery of a training programme schedule in line with ADHD Ireland strategies Facilitation of ADHD Information sessions to schools both in Dublin and around the country, ensuring that frontline service providers in the educational sector such as Teachers and SNA’s etc have a full awareness of ADHD and the measures needed to make school (both primary and secondary) a better experience for those with ADHD.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate with the Service Development team to deliver Parent & School Training programmes to target audiences
- Ensure all educational content is relevant and optimised for key stakeholder audiences
- Manage and foster external key relationships and stakeholders
- Create educational content in a range of formats for in person delivery, website, social media, etc.
- Identify learning technologies to enhance the delivery of programmes in line with users needs
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of the parent training & Schools training programme
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders
- To monitor, review and evaluate the activity and delivery against annual plans on a continuous basis
- To seek out opportunities for statutory and other funding, and submit funding applications where appropriate
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Completion of a facilitator accreditation of a recognised Parent Training programme
- Experience with instructional media including instructor-led, online/digital, and virtual instructor-led training
- Successful track record of delivering effective, evidence-based parent training programmes, online or in person delivery
- Evidence of building, managing and developing key external relationships with health and education leaders in the sector
- Experience of managing budgets and producing reports
- Third level qualification in a relevant discipline
- Knowledge and experience of service / support implementation
- The ability to understand and follow safeguarding and Health and Safety guidelines – alongside other organisational policies and procedures

- Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with an ability to communicate with different target audiences
- Excellent interpersonal, networking and influencing abilities and being able to work as part of a small team
- A results-focused self-starter with the ability to manage multiple demands, prioritise and work under pressure
- Working knowledge and understanding of education settings
- Excellent project management skills and experience of delivering projects to completion
- An eye for design and layout and the ability to present multi-format content
- Results-focused with strong analytical skills
- High tolerance for complexity and change
- Proven ability to work to deadlines
- Strong communication and presentation skills with an attention to detail
- Excellent relationship skills for internal and external collaboration and stakeholder management
- Motivated to work within the non-profit health/ disability sector, with a passion for making a difference
- Preferably, an understanding of and empathy for ADHD related issues
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., disability, safeguarding, etc.)
- Knowledge of best-practice in the area (e.g., education, CAMHS, etc.)
- Knowledge of participatory practice (e.g., children’s voice, patient-led practice, etc.)
- Knowledge of ADHD and coexisting difficulties
- Experience of working with children, young people, and/or their families who may exhibit challenging behaviours
- Full and clean driver’s license and use of own car
- Flexibility to travel and perform occasional evening and weekend work
- Thorough understanding of the non-profit landscape in Ireland
