ADHD International Virtual Conference 2023

ADHD Ireland and the ADHD Foundation / Neurodiversity Charity collaboration is back to facilitate the largest ADHD conference in Europe, taking place virtually 19th of October 2023.

Bringing together global experts leaders and thinkers, this forward-thinking conference is for all those affected by ADHD and will seek to push for progress. We will lead insightful and inclusive discussions, exploring what needs to be done to enable those with ADHD to thrive.

We will have the world famous Dr. Ned Hallowell, Dr. Blánaid Gavin and comedian Dave Twentyman, plus two amazingly brave parents highlighting their way of living and thriving with ADHD.

The plan of the Conference:

5:00pm – Opening – Ken Kilbride, CEO of ADHD Ireland

7:00pm – Dr. Blánaid Gavin- ” ADHD & Medications” –

The talk: “My talk will provide an overview of medication use in ADHD with a focus on commonly used medication, the evidence behind their use and how effectiveness and side-effects are monitored.”

7:45pmComedian Dave Twentyman –  

The Talk: ‘The wait for an assessment can be long & excruciating, with plenty of time to reflect back on life so far. Have I really been wearing the wrong lenses all this time? A humorous talk about coming to terms with having ADHD from a comedian who very much wears his heart on his sleeve’.

Meet The Speakers 

Dr.Edward McKey Hallowell is an American psychiatrist, speaker, New York Times best-selling author and podcast host. He specializes in ADHD and is the founder of the Hallowell ADHD Centers. Hallowell is the author of 20 books, including the Distraction series, co-authored with Dr. John Ratey.

Dr. Blánaid Gavin, Associate Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, University College, Dublin trained in UCD, St John of Gods and Colombia University Child Psychiatry Institute, New York. Dr Gavin led and co-authored the Trasna Project – a unique project aimed at establishing the views of young people attending psychiatric services in Ireland.

Dave Twentyman has 20 years experience performing stand-up comedy around the UK and abroad. In that time, he has also supported the likes of Jason Manford and Sean Lock on their tours. He proudly features on the Blackpool Comedy Carpet amongst the most popular comics in British Comedy history.
